Mission Statement 

Fulfilling Connections  at Whispering Winds is a Human Growth and Development Center. 

We are part of an internationally recognized association providing therapeutic resources for families, schools, and mental health professionals.  Our programs utilize authentic learning experiences designed to foster positive character development.

Using strength-based models, Fulfilling Connections is committed to positively impacting the emotional, mental, behavioral, and social challenges of individuals and families that are at-risk or have special needs.

Two Special Programs 

Claire LeJeune Kemp, an EAGALA Certified professional, offers  two separate types of programs .

Equine-assisted psychotherapy  (EAP) programs  which partner horse(s) with professional mental health therapists, providing treatment plans for depression, substance abuse,  bereavement, and physical abuse. Counseling is provided for individuals, couples, and families.

Equine facilitated learning (EFL) is another program designed to partner participants with a horse.  EFL programs center around  the ability to engage the disengaged while promoting personal exploration of feelings and behaviors in an educational format.

Program goals may be related to self-improvement, social interaction, education, and leadership in a non-traditional setting. The benefits of participating in an EFL program include increased self-awareness and confidence, improved trust, responsibility, direction, self-discovery and much more.

Both of these programs are completely on the ground,  no riding or mounted activities are included.  Our focus is on pure biofeedback between client(s) and horses under the supervision of qualified, certified staff.  Visit our Programs page for more information.

Cowboy Poetry

Piloted and proven!  The Cowboy Poetry program has been used successfully throughout the United States.  The curriculum utilizes a strength based learning model that incorporates academic standards, character skills, and development assets.

Retreats may consist of a day packed full of free time on the farm. Relax with a walk around the farm, use the labyrinth, swim in the pool, enjoy a spa cuisine lunch, and receive a massage from our certified massage therapist.

Or you may chose to participate in a structured day retreat customized to meet your personal goals specifically designed by our staff..

Welcome to our unique horse farm in the heart of the Laurel Highlands, Southwestern PA.  At Whispering Winds , our unique location and facility offer you the best in the Laurel Highlands area:

• Tranquil country setting within located just minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

• Panoramic view of the Laurel Mountains from our 22-acre estate.
   
• Fully renovated 1880’s buildings offer the open spaces and welcoming feel while providing the necessary modern amenities.
   
• Parking adequate for small or large groups.

Your Help Needed!  In order to secure a permanent property for Fulfilling Connections, we are trying to raise money for a covered arena for year round service to at-risk youth and other individuals, as well as replace the existing barn roof to preserve the barn.

We also need construction materials or lumber for outdoor run-in sheds for the horses, tack, barn supplies, art supplies, and of course we always need volunteers!  Please Contact Us today to help.
